First up, this was my first of two RT brushes and I can only validate what every other blogger/beauty user is saying; RT brushes are THE BOMB. I didn't believe all the claims saying pretty much the entire range of brushes were wonderful quality and so cheap (on Iherb for Australians) but oh my goodness they are amazing. The bristles of pretty much all their brushes are soft, readily retain their shape, dry so quickly and I can already tell they will last years with proper care.
I use this Expert Face Brush to apply liquid foundation most days or otherwise for contouring or blending out harsh lines. I haven't been using this as much as I was before as I am trying out a sponge application technique. However, when I find a heavy duty liquid foundation I will definitely be using this again. The only problem I have with the Expert Face Brush is that if I don't blend in everything really well, it tends to leave very light streaks all over the place.
Models Prefer Professional MPP100 airbrush
Models Prefer is an Australian brand which makes a large range of makeup which can often be dupes of high end products. I'm not a fan of the makeup itself, but their brushes are so good. The airbrush brush is fantastic as it gives a very beautiful finish to powder products and I love using it to apply bronzer all over or to lightly buff in my loose blushers. Don't ask me what hair all these brushes are made out of though, don't know for sure.
One of my most recent additions is this great blush brush, but I use it for highlighting with my Ms Lumanizer's instead. I absolutely love the tapered design of bristles; it makes it so easy to sweep powders into small areas such as under eyes and around the temples. Great stuff.
Ecotools Blush Brush
And here is another blush brush which I don't use for applying blush. The brush shape of this is really convenient for contouring under the cheekbones with a slight flattening on each side of what can be imagined as the longer sides of an oval. Apart from RT, Ecotools has to be my favourite drugstore/high street brand for brushes as the quality is amazing and eco-friendly.
I feel like I'll just keep repeating the words "amazing", "great" and "quality" over and over again, so I'll save you the boredom and just tell you some application tips and problems for each as they're all "fantastic" brushes.
With normal buffing brushes, the motion of actually buffing in products can be troublesome for those with flaky, dry skin as it will continue to lift up and exfoliate those icky skin cells. The thing I like most about this brush is that it is so soft to use and doesn't do too much of that exfoliate thing. It's not as soft as the Ecotools version, which I like because than one is so soft it moves too much. This one is a little sturdier and better.
Natio Complexion Perfection Foundation Sponge
I've only been testing this out for about three days and so far I am loving the dewy and glow-ful finish it gives me, especially with the Natio Pure Mineral Foundation. I haven't tried the original Beauty Blender yet and neither the other dupes, so I really have nothing to go on here. Moving on.
I'm pretty sure this isn't made from synthetic hairs, but I've used this with my Jurlique Rose Finishing Powder so much it now permanently smells like sugared roses. Roses I can't stand the scent of, but sugared roses, yum? Anyway this brush is so large compared to my other brushes which makes it perfect to apply loose finishing powders.
Models Prefer MP11 foundation
I never actually use this but its good. I think I use this when I apply base products on other people (ahem sister).
Prestige Skin Loving Minerals MBR-115 Powder
This is a small rounded powder brush which I love to use with bronzers. It does tend to be a little too stiff though and thus causes a lot of fall out. I should also note that this takes FOREVER to dry, a solid day and three quarters compared to overnight from the RT brushes.
I got this recently in a kit and this little piece of fluff is soo adorable! I like to use it with the products in the kit - review coming soon - and this is great for the cheekbone swirlies.
Ecotools Finishing Kabuki Brush
I have yet to really use this properly, but it works well as an overall bronzing powder applier. I think it also works as a huge stippling brush.
Well, that's that for now. I apologise for the commentary drying up towards the end; I pretty much had the same praises to sing for all these brushes. Have a great, fantastic and quality day y'all! xx
