I feel like I start off a lot of my posts talking about the weather - and for good reason because Melbourne's climate is flipping insane. East coast Australia is in a moment of chilly, wintry stasis. One makeup product that has helped me look a little less drab is blush. I have never been a "blush kinda girl" but after discovering what Nars Lovejoy could do for my pale, lifeless skin I immediately went on a tiny blush frenzy (recently got my order from Sleek!)
Obviously, today's post is on two Essence Blush Up! blushers in 10 Heat Wave and 20 Pinky Flow. I have always been a little bit interested in trying these out ever since seeing them in the Essence stands at Priceline, but never picked them up until recently. These retail for about $7 in Australia which is quite a deal for the quality. See the pros and cons below for a not-so-lengthy review.

Pros:
- stunning shades with pretty ombre effect
- buildable and blendable
- fairly pigmented
- customisable colour selection ie. can get different shades on different parts of the blush. As you can see in the swatches, the middle swatches are mixes of two shades.
- affordable
Cons:
- quite powdery
- not long lasting (max 2 hours for me, before my makeup eats it up. Most blushes do not last long on me anyway)
- packing is very flimsy
Overall, I don't have much to say about these blushers. Although the colours are wonderful, both look very nice on my Nars Fiji skin, I find that they don't wear well and can get quite powdery. I unexpectedly reach for Pinky Flow a lot more than the coral toned counterpart. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I have these and they're very affordable, but are underwhelming. Hopefully, the Sleek Blushers fare better.
