A short review today, on a topic I rarely venture into. Nail polish! As much as I love makeup, I've never really been bothered to dress up my nails. That may be because I use to work in a restaurant where they require clean nails and hands, or because I use my hands a lot so I've never really cared for adornment. Nonetheless, when my Uni's Law Ball came round, I felt compelled to dress them up, only for a little bit.
For someone who is looking for work appropriate, sophisticated nails, I suggest going for Essie's Ladylike. I knew I wanted a somewhat nude shade to balance out the awesome duo-chrome of Revlon's 933 Chameleon and Ladylike instantly caught my eye. As you can see, it is a gorgeous mauve toned nude shade which applies very opaque with just two coats. For a newbie nail polish user, the formula is practical and perfect - fool proof I daresay as the coats blend together and look smooth, even when it isn't. Chameleon applies quite sheer and streaky compared to Ladylike, but I really like the effect and colour shift from gold to green-gold. It definitely needed to be built up to three coats to achieve a smooth yet opaque finish.
Can't say I am a nail addict, but I will definitely be keeping Ladylike for any occasions that may arise later. Please excuse the weird lines on my nails, that is merely me not buffering them.
Rating (Ladylike): 5/5
Rating (Chameleon): 3/75/5
