I remember receiving these five babies as gifts and being very much impressed with the three i actually tried. Before that I had only used Empress once for a photoshoot for a school project. The dusting powder was aimed to give my model (Hi Ingrid!) a really beautiful glow that would make her sparkle in the sunlight. The theme was Fairytales vs Reality and Ingrid was modeled as Rapunzel. More on that later. After giving away my Empress, I really regretted it so I was very pleased to receive these. You can see in the images below that so far I have only opened two of them - Nymph and Smokey Quartz.
Empress - pure gold with an almost foil finish when applied wet. On outtakes of Ingrid's shoot below, I dusted Empress under cheekbones, across the forehead and chin. It was quick work for a beginner makeup-applier? but I think I did okay. I love this shade, it's phenomenal, eye catching and very pigmented.
Golden Topaz - is a considerably paler gold/yellow than Empress and still just as lovely. This would be very pretty as an inner corner eye highlight.
Fairy - a beeauuttiiffulll white gold shade with finely milled glitter and again, perfect for highlighting for a subtle shine.
Nymph - pink-mauve in colour and just so darn pretty I love it.
Smokey Quartz - rich silver that isn't as interesting as the other shades, but it is still just as amazing, especially when used which a smokey eye look (duh).
My only gripe with these is the packaging. Whilst aesthetically pleasing and cute, there is still too much fallout even for a few shakes when I remove the sticker keeping it all in the pot. However, I can live with that because these powders are just too gorgeous to pass up.
After reviewing these I've fallen in love with them again and I will strive to use them more often. Also, just discovered they have another four shades! Two of which look like amazingly pigmented blues.
