The biggest con that comes with having makeup as a hobby (read: addiction) is the $$$. Considering my often really bad experiences with drugstore makeup, I've been making the move to beauty products that are in the higher end and/or use vegan & natural ingredients. I understand that cosmetic giants such as L'Oreal do test their products on animals, which ethically is a huge no-no for me; so I actually set out and did a brief research of every single brand that I own and whether or not they are cruelty free and good for my skin in the long term. Then I decide if I want to keep using the product/s or put them up into a blog sale. More on this soon because I am in the middle of drafting that post right now. This also means that I'll have to be purchasing less beauty products on a whim and save up for the good stuff, hence less posts on newly attained drugstore/high street makeup.
One very popular brand for makeup which is 100% cruelty free and does not make my skin go absolutely nutters is Topshop. During the recent clean out mentioned above, I re-discovered a whole box of makeup which I was saving up to use, all completely new. I still can't believe I forgot about that box, it had a bunch of awesome high end products such as Lancome lipsticks, even Smashbox and theBalm eyeshadows! I felt like past me wanted present me to have Christmas early or something. Just, pure bliss. Anyway, I had Topshop makeup stashed in there too and all of these following products will be reviewed at some stage in my blog life:
-Bronzer in Sandcastle
-Illuminator in Reflect
-Sheer Lips lipstick in Chuck
-Powder Blush in Do It Again
-Glow Highlighters in Polished and Gleam
I love myself so much right now I want to scream. xx
