A warning: HUGE and picture heavy post ahead.
I regularly clean out my makeup, but lately, I've been feeling quite overwhelmed with the sheer amount of stuff accumulated. So I decided to do a massive de-clutter of my makeup and some makeup tools. My skincare section needs a little revamping too, but that's another story for another time. I apologise now for the inconsistent lighting and edited photographs, but I was just trying to get it all done over a few days so I could study. Most of the images on the left are of the initial collection and because I kept giving and throwing away objects as quickly as possible, I found that it was very hard to have to keep re-taking the same content. If that makes any sense? You'll see what I mean :)

You might remember a haul where I mentioned this very functional wooden drawer unit from The Reject Shop. I have been loving it! As you see, I cut up some non-slip padding to keep makeup from moving around too much.
Scroll over images to see quantities - and there is also a list at the end which I find very satisfying to see such small number.

Foundations
Initial: 11 - INSANE! I do not need that much for one face.
After: 2 - Somehow very pleased and disappointed at the same time. Probably due to the fact that so much money was wasted, but if I'm not using the makeup it's a waste anyway. Also, I am almost finished with my Healthy Mix Serum so it'll be down to one foundation soon.
BB/CC Cream
Initial: 2
After: 1
It's safe to say I adore Bourjois bases, not that Natio was bad though. I just prefer the Bourjois finishes.
Tinted Moisturiser
Initial: 1
After: 1
I'm still in the midst of trying this out.

Concealer
Initial: 5
After: 3
As you can see I have changed a lot in terms of concealer. I think my once all time favourite Time Balm was starting to get bad and was not working for me anymore. I don't even know why I had coloured concealer by the way.
Fun fact, I actually prefer mixing Nars Vanilla and Estee Lauder's Double Wear in 08 for more heavy duty coverage. Probably because I didn't realise Nars Custard was a really good shade match for me and grew accustomed to the two as blemish concealers.

Primer
Initial: 2
After: 3
Yes, I added another primer. I love all of them for different purposes.

Face Powder
Initial: 7
After: 7
I adore face powders and am using most of these (two I haven't opened yet) so there is no way I'll be getting rid of these any time soon.
Eyeshadow Crayons
Initial: 3
After: 0
I never used these and never will. So to other people they go. Except that Bobbi Brown one, so old it went straight to the bin.

Blush
Initial: 10
After: 2
I rarely ever use blush, but when I do I always go back to the trusty Everyday Minerals Snooze Bar. I just didn't like any of the others on the left. Both of the blushes I'm keeping don't have much staying power though so I'll be on the hunt for something better, preferably from Burberry.

Bronzer & Contour
Initial: 6
After: 3
I had three other bronzing powders from an Everyday Minerals kit I forgot to add in the picture, that's why you only see three bronzers. I've yet to find anything as good as Topshop's Sandcastle, and recently added a Nars Contour Blush and Burberry Blush in Earthy (not pictured, looks like a contour product) to my collection.

Highlighter
Initial: 13
After: 4
Ah, highlighter. My very own crystal kryptonite. I had to force myself to part with any I didn't even remotely use. Twas' a sad, but necessary, happening.

Mascara
Initial: 9
After: 5
Too much mascara for a person who rarely uses mascara anymore. I haven't even opened three out of the five I kept.
Brows
Initial: 0
After: 1
I now have a brow pencil I actually like!

Lipgloss
Initial: 10
After: 7
The only lip glosses I ever use are the Nyx Butter Gloss's, evidently. I just rounded it down to the glosses that most suited me which I use most often. (Don't count the two Velourlips on the side, they're actual lipsticks)

Eye Tools
Initial: 4
After: 2
I forgot to picture the Nyx base in the before image. I have also thrown out the eyelash curler because that thing is useless to me.

Single Eyeshadows
Initial: 9
After: 2
Just count the singles in the image. Obviously I have upgraded, and am still re-building, my single eyeshadows collection.

Trios/Quads
Initial: 4

The only change here is taking out The Body Shop cubes and replacing it with a gorgeous Burberry quad.

Eyeliner {Liquid, pencils & kohl}
Initial: 22
After: 13
Can you tell I love my eyeliner? Had such a hard time letting my colourful ones go I settled for putting them into my "kit" - essentially a spare box of stuff I really don't want to let go of.

Lipstick
Initial: 47
After: 28
The five in the bottom, right hand corner of the right image will be depotted into pill cases from Muji like the ones you see on the left. Those are also going into the "kit".

Face Palette
Initial: 2

Stopped using the BCC one because it made my skin react funny. The Ben Nye Pressed Colour Palette is wonderful.
Eye Palette
Initial: 9
After: 6
Had a few I needed to depot so really, I haven't gotten rid of much. Just added one or two, and compacted everything else. Although I did get rid of many shadows I have depotted previously.

The above images are the final result of my drawers. Feeling pretty darn proud now if I don't say so myself.
The "kit" box is pictured. I haven't kept too much apart form some lipsticks, loose eyeshadows, coloured eyeliners and two empty Z-palettes. Yeah...that's okay right?
