A short post today featuring some trinket hunting! This chess set came back with dad on one of his more recent trips to Vietnam. Quite a few find memories for me revolve around playing board games with the family and this particular set has been well loved as you can tell by the many chips and dents in the characters. Each is made out of the stone cut in Nha Trang and the black ones I think are coated in black ceramic. They can also be encased in the velvet covered drawer made out of the same black wood that the entire thing is structured out of. Overall it is a fantastic piece that would be an ideal gift to a special person or a lovely and fancy ornament that can be set out to display.
