Uni started again this week and it is suffice to say that the most annoying part of my day today was finding out I have a straight 12 week course with exams...and NO mid semester break! Cue groaning and sulking. However, not all things in life are ~*~whOO~*~ worthy, so I just have to buck up and get working on the fast growing pile of reading & assignments.
An unfortunate side effect of studying in winter, when one isn't able to spend so much time playing with makeup or watching several films in 8 hours straight, is the lack of attention to skin problems. I've incurred the wrath of terrible skin too many times from all the binge eating, lazy cleansing and frigid Melbourne winters in the past to know that it is very very important to take care of your skin. Granted I've only really started being ultra careful with my skin around the end of last year after high school, but already I can see the excellent results of a skincare routine that works for the individual; with the added acne-away tablet treatment, of course.
During a day at uni, I know that my dry skin will just get so parched and disgustingly flakey that I have to bring some pretty intense moisturiser around with me. That's great but for someone who wears makeup it can get pretty irritating when one has to bring along extra makeup with wipes or something to carry along with the precious moisture giving liquid. Bulky and time consuming. That was why I decided to purchase this little squeeze bottle of Tea Tree Face Balm by Balm Balm off Feel Unique.
This is marketed as a 100% natural face balm that contains tea tree leaf oil (duh). The ingredients listed are definitely all natural so that was a very impressive factor for me. The packaging is good as it serves as almost-frill-free functional and the tube itself is quite small so it can fit into most handbags, another plus there.
At first when I saw the balm itself I was worried that it would be reminiscent of petroleum jelly with the icky after feeling. But rest assured reader, this applies so soothingly and absorbs incredibly fast for a balm that I was almost worried it wasn't even there within a minute of application. It was because of this that I decided that it would not be good as an everyday moisture booster/dry patch hide-er. Instead I use this balm on problem areas after a good cleanse and moisturising session, before I apply my makeup. Tea Tree Face Balm has worked very well for me in expanding the longevity of already moisturised skin, thus having less dryness towards the afternoon. I also use this over my makeup which is great as it absorbs immediately without completely ruining the good parts AND it blends in any hour old, streaky foundation/contour lines. How cool is that?!
In all, I recommend this for the lazy souls with limited time to really touch up or reapply makeup. A very good product and a very good start to Balm Balm products for me.
